weddings and cancellations

Lecture was canceled today. The Professor asked me to go to campus anyway and write a notice on the board. When I got there, one of the other TAs was already there, writing said notice. Apparently the Professor had asked all three of us to come to campus and write a notice on the board.

But, lest I complain to much, now it is 10:51 a.m., and I am sitting at home, eating granola, and planning a productive day. And thinking about Sunday's wedding. It was a very cinematic event -- gorgeous bridesmaids, candles and twinkling lights in trees, a first dance to Bob Dylan. As we were standing at the bar, waiting for our margaritas, Mike and I counted all the weddings we've attended together. I was surprised that it only came out to 10. 10 weddings, not counting our own, in 10 years. I could have sworn there were more because I'm pretty sure that wedding attendance was all I did between 2003-2006. I went to a few without Mike, either because he was working or because he wasn't (and feeling subsequently cash strapped). Even with those solo ventures, it looks like I attended approximately 1.2 weddings a year since 1999. Here's the breakdown:

1999 = 2 (Canyon, CA & Soda Springs, CA)
2000 = 0 ?!?!
2001 = 1 (New Mexico)
2002 = 0 ?!?!
2003 = 2 (Cambridge, MA & Andover, MA)
2004 = 2 (Olema, CA & Concord, CA)
2005 = My Wedding
2006 = 2 (Santa Clarita, CA & St. Louis, MO)
2007 = 2 (Grass Valley, CA & Berlin, Germany)
2008 = 1 (Piedmont, CA)
2009 = 1 (Los Angeles, CA)

For someone who loves weddings, I haven't managed to make it to very many.

Now laundry.
